An Isiteji Temple is in about 2.5km north from the Hantaji Temple. Dogo Hot Spring is
located in the neighborhood and this place is being crowded with the tourist.
Ochi Tamazumi who received Emperor Shomu's command in 728 built "the Anyoji
Temple." Next year, the Gyuki-bosatu visited, and he deified Yakushi Nyorai as the
principal image. Kobo Daishi visited in 813 and it is said that he provided in the 51st
amulet-issuing office.
The boy was born to a feudal lord's Kono Yasutosi in 892. Since he was born, this
child did not open a left hand. The father asked the prayer of the Priest of the Anyoji
Temple. When the Priest prayed, the child opened his hand and the pebble came out
from inside of his hand. It was written to the pebble as "Emon Saburo reincarnation."
Then, it is said that the name were changed the "Ishiteji Temple".
Then, the temple was very prosperous. However, after Mr. Kono is ruined by
Chosokabe, it is said that it was troubled by the control of maintenance of the temple.
Mr. Feudal lord Matsudaira's protection is received and repair is performed at the Edo
period. The Main Temple, the Deva gate and the Three-storied pagoda (1318), the Bell
tower (1333), and the Bell (1250) are designated as the national treasure or the
