 The Shidoji Temple is located in Shido town which went to southeast about 7km from
the Yakuriji Temple. Shido town faces the Shido bay.
 The Shido Temple is the oldest all over the Shikoku 88 holy places, and is called the
temple built by the Empress Suiko era. It is a cause of the temple that Fuhito Fujiwara
built the grave of woman diver's who is his wife, and built the funeral temple in 682.
  Fusamae visited with the Gyuki-bosatu, the temple was improved, and it changed
into the "Shido Temple" in 696. Since then, although the temple prospered very much
till the Muromachi period last stage, Tyosokabe Mototika has invaded and burned it.
 The Takamatsu Feudal lord, Matudaira Yorishige built the present Main Temple and
Temple Gate in 1771. Now, it is designated as the important cultural property of a
country.
 Many luck traditions remain in this temple. In particular, the tale of tragic love of
Fuhito Fujiwara and his wife is famous.This talk is called "a woman diver's ball picking."
 There is a former residence of Gennai Hiraga who is the gifted scientist of the Edo
period near this temple.
